4 August 2010

We just got back from a week in Stratford, Ontario, where we spent most of our time in theaters, at the Shakespeare Festival. But we also indulged me--by finding a number of old industrial buildings in varying stages of reuse or decay. Including this one, about which we could find out nothing...

Vacant factory,
Its roof gone, windows broken.
Its story untold.

  1. I hope to hear more about your trip to Stratford and the productions you saw while you were here.
As for the building here is it's story:
Before the festival came along Stratford was a railway town, were a lot of locomotives came for repair and were built. This building is called the Cooper site. A few years ago there was a major fire which caused the damage you now see on the building. This will soon be the location of the new Stratford campus of the University of Waterloo. Now the untold story is told!
