The End Has Come
Since this is The Haiku Project 2010, and it's now January 17 2011, I think we can say that the project has concluded. Successfully, from my point of view, because I did write more this year than I have for a while. Those of you (if there is anyone out there) who might like to tag along can do so at the continuation of the project, The Haiku Project 2011.

Outside my windows,
Snow so thick I cannot see
Even the railroad track

“A long December...”
Not so long as in years past.
The years seem short now.
Not so long as in years past.
The years seem short now.

11 December 2010
Outside, cold wind, ice.
Inside, a different chill,
When we are apart.
Inside, a different chill,
When we are apart.

9 December 2010
Snow snaking across
The street. Cars slow, crawl past as
I watch from my desk.
The street. Cars slow, crawl past as
I watch from my desk.

Winter approaches.
Gray skies, gray days coming.
But spring will come, too.
Gray skies, gray days coming.
But spring will come, too.
