Hot, wet air envelops us;
We wait for the storm.

I’m on my way home,
Driving into the sunset,
Driving almost blind.

Rain while I'm driving.
My wipers streak the windshield.
Things could be better.

Streetside, flashing lights
Warn me not to go that way.
I find a detour.

Driving home tonight,
All the way, it’s one red light
After another.
